# Markdown Hub 365 — a real knowledge base from your markdown, inside SharePoint

Documentation you already keep in markdown, finally usable where it lives. Markdown Hub 365 turns a SharePoint Online library full of `.md` files into a GitHub-style knowledge base — working links, README landing pages, cross-file search, and an outline — with rendering that matches the native viewer and fixes what it can't do. A pure SharePoint Framework web part: no backend, no external service, and your content never leaves your tenant.

### The problem

Since April 2026, SharePoint renders markdown natively — markdown is finally first-class content in Microsoft 365. But the native viewer **breaks relative links between documents by design**: a link from one `.md` file to another resolves against the viewer page and lands on a 404. There is no folder landing page, no cross-document search, no outline, and no shareable deep-link to a specific document.

So the teams best positioned to publish knowledge in SharePoint — the ones who already keep runbooks, training material, and internal know-how as linked markdown, the way they do in git — are exactly the ones the native experience lets down. And this matters more every quarter: Copilot and AI agents ground best on clean, chunkable markdown, and NIS2 and ISO/IEC 27001 pressure organizations to document more and keep it current, ideally as many small versioned files rather than one large document. The recommended way to keep documentation is precisely the way SharePoint renders worst.

### The solution

Markdown Hub 365 is the missing reading experience. Point it at any document library and it renders your markdown the way GitHub would — breadcrumb, folder table of contents, an auto-loaded README landing page, diagrams, and working links that navigate inside the web part. Relative links are resolved against the real document folder and clamped to the knowledge-base root, so navigation behaves the way authors expect. Every document carries a real shareable deep-link, so copy-link, middle-click, and open-in-new-tab all work.

On top of the free reading experience, an Enterprise tier adds what native SharePoint cannot do at all: search across the whole knowledge base, an outline panel, inline version history with restore, comments, and an Agent Assets view that turns your markdown into grounding material for Microsoft 365 Copilot. All of it runs client-side, as the signed-in user, with no backend and no Graph permissions.

### Key features

**GitHub-style browsing** — breadcrumb, folder table of contents, and an auto-loaded README / SHAREPOINT.md landing document for every folder.

**Working relative links** — links between documents resolve against the real folder and stay clamped to the knowledge-base root, with in-web-part navigation and shareable deep-links. This is the core gap the native viewer leaves open.

**Full markdown rendering** — Prism syntax highlighting, callouts, tables, task lists, and Mermaid diagrams bundled in the package with no external CDN. Never renders worse than the built-in viewer.

**Cross-file search** _(Enterprise)_ — search across your whole knowledge base, scoped and permission-aware, with results opening in place.

**Outline panel** _(Enterprise)_ — a table of contents for the current document, GitHub-style.

**Inline version history** _(Enterprise)_ — view and restore previous versions of a document in place, without leaving the reading experience.

**Comments** _(Enterprise)_ — read and post comments on any document.

**Agent Assets and Copilot skills** _(Enterprise)_ — browse the SHAREPOINT.md grounding document and `_skills/` library, and install Copilot in SharePoint skills straight from the property pane, including a knowledge-base quality-audit skill and export selected markdown to Word.

**Nine-language interface** _(Enterprise)_ — EN, CS, SK, DE, FR, NL, PL, ES, IT, plus Application Core Settings and a configurable support mailbox.

**Data stays in your tenant** — pure SPFx, no backend, no external CDN, zero Graph permissions. The only outbound call is a license check that sends a tenant ID and product code, never your content. No new data processor to add to your ISO scope.

### One renderer, many jobs

Lead with a knowledge base, or find your own purpose — Markdown Hub 365 is a universal markdown surface for your whole tenant.

**Knowledge base** — runbooks, training material, and internal know-how, browsable like a wiki.

**SKILLs viewer** — browse `_skills/` and agent assets that ground Copilot in SharePoint.

**SHAREPOINT.md viewer** — a proper README landing page for any site or library.

**Your own purpose** — any linked set of `.md` files, finally usable where native rendering fails.

### Who it's for

IT and consulting teams with runbooks and training material; teams that already keep documentation as markdown in git and want to publish it usably in SharePoint; organizations building agent-ready knowledge bases for Microsoft 365 Copilot; and training organizations maintaining course material. And anyone under NIS2 or ISO/IEC 27001 pressure who now keeps more documentation, in more small versioned files, and needs it readable and maintainable — inside their own tenant, with no new data processor to assess.

Markdown Hub 365 does not make you compliant; it makes the documentation you already have to maintain usable and maintainable where it lives.

### About This Pricing

Markdown Hub 365 is a per-tenant SharePoint Framework web part with a free tier that is a full, permanent state — not a time-limited trial.

**Free** fixes what native SharePoint markdown can't do: GitHub-style browsing, working relative links and deep-links, full rendering including Mermaid, and version and author information in the document header. One tenant licence, unlimited users, English interface.

**Enterprise — €390 per tenant per year** (or €39 per month) adds what native SharePoint cannot do at all: cross-file search, outline, inline version history with restore, comments, the Agent Assets view and Copilot skills, and the nine-language interface. One flat licence per tenant, unlimited users, email support with a two-business-day SLA, and deployment documentation. A 30-day self-serve Enterprise trial is available from the property pane and reverts to Free automatically when it ends.

There are no per-user fees and no platform costs beyond your existing Microsoft 365 subscription. Your data stays in your own Microsoft 365 tenant at all times: no backend, no external storage, no Graph permissions.
